So in this day and age where smoking is much less common, this could be returned to its traditional origins and used to hold implements for incense! \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is a larger open section in the top where you can store incense, this also holds the ceramic koro or incense burner with a light blue\/green celadon crackled glaze.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBelow the open top section are two small drawers. They are big enough to hold short stick incense boxes. I counted 5 can fit in the larger drawer. The smaller drawer is perfect for storing, matches and a lighter. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMade from Rosewood which has been prized in Japan since ancient times for its strength and rich colour. \u003cbr\u003eThere is a handle, which unusually is made of bent Buffalo horn. Signalling that this was an expensive piece originally.
