This was once part of a pot hook called a Jizai Kagi meaning articulated hook.
These hooks were suspended over the coals in a traditional Japanese House.
They were able to be adjusted up and down to move the pot of water or food, higher or lower to the coals as a way of controlling the cooking temperature.
The hooks are not so useful now but parts of them are often quite decorative, like our fish here. A fabulous carving depicting a Koi fish with a pearl in its mouth.
Display it as is, it can be strung up with a rope and hung.
Lacquer over carved timber.
Measures 34cm long x 8cm wide and 12cm high.

Standard Post takes 3-8 days to arrive to Australian destinations.
Express Post takes 1-2 days, unless there are delays due to peak postal times (ie Christmas).
You will be notified of any delays from our end (prior to shipping) as soon as possible.
Once shipped, you will receive a tracking number so you can check the AusPost website for arrival details.
